is for And

But why not Apple? From young, we have always learnt that A is for Apple, haven't we? But nothing in this world is absolute. Everything changes. So today, we might say that A is for And, and the next day, A is for something else (maybe Adam or Ant or Arena???). For today, let me tell you the story of And.

Once upon a time, there was a person named 'And'. Now, 'And' is a neutral word. It doesn't have gender, unlike 'Sir' or 'Madam', unlike 'Deer' and 'Doe'. So we can't say that And is a 'he' or a 'she', can we? Of course we can, because And is a human being in this story, not a word! Alright, back to the story. So And got his name because he liked use the word 'and' when he speaks. He would go to the fishmonger every morning to buy fish for his cat and this is what he would say to the baker, "And I'll have some fishes for my cat and I'll have to pay you the money and I'll have to go back home and feed the cat and...." He would use 'and' to everyone he spoke to.

And of course, he didn't think that was a problem at all until one day, he met a girl whom he fell in love with at first sight. He was at the town library, browsing through some shelves to look for science fiction books to read when this girl came and stood beside him.
