is for Remains
Remains?
Remains of what? Should 'remain' be used as a verb, or as
a noun here? According to World Book 1999, when 'remain' is used as a
transitive verb, it means: 1. to continue in a place; stay 2. to continue; keep on; last 3. to be left. When used as a noun, it means: a. what is left b. a dead body c. a wreckage d. a writer's works not yet published at the time of his death e. things left from the past such as a building, a monument, or parts of an animal or plant. Why are you still here? Stop remaining here, go get a life! |
